Living La Vida De Keri and Sammy...: February 2014

We have a two month old baby in the house! And boooooyyyyy is he growing! We had a busy little month really. And it's been a lot of fun seeing Ian grow and change everyday.

This month he has learned to coo and smile, he makes the sweetest little sounds and a lot of times he will smile when he is making his noises. He eats every 1.5 to 2 hours and he is a slow eater so it usually takes him about 30-45mins to eat. It's not so bad during the day BUT after you have a kid that eats for 45 mins, you burp him and everything, he's hungry again! With all that eating that means he is gaining weight, we are past the 11 pound and we are flying through that weight belt as we speak. We don't fit in a lot of 0-3 month clothes and 3 months are just long enough!

Ian and I had our first two nights without Sam. We both survived and honestly it was hard but it wasn't all that bad, I have most of the weight since I'm breast feeding but we both missed Sam because honestly, he's a great Dad and Ian loves to be held by him.

We also had our first trip/roadtrip outside of Reno. We went to the bay area because Sam had a week long training in Oakland. He is a natural traveler, he slept the whole way to Oakland and back!
It was nice because it gave me a chance to spend time with my Baba (grandma), Connor got to see his cousin Ian, which he was VERY excited about. Christy my baba's caretaker was a HUGE help during the days while Sam was gone and I really loved her company. We also asked my God sister to be Ian's Godmother and her husband Marty to be the Godfather. We will need to figure out when Ian will be baptized but I wanted to ask them because I wanted to make sure they were willing to be the God parents. Ian and I were alsoable to visit my Kuma (godmother) as well which was wonderful.

Ian is a beautiful baby. He is very calm and sweet. When he cries its not for very long and Sam and I can usually figure out what it is that he needs/wants. He likes to suck on his fingers but he loves his purple paci even more. I try and speak Spanish to him as often as possible but to be honest it's hard when it's a one sided conversation. HA!

We are getting ready to go on our very first airplane ride to Hawaii in a couple of weeks! WE are very excited because it will gives us a little break from winter and allow Ian to be a naked baby in the fresh air!
