To start, my job is completely rewarding, challenging and absolutely different from any other job I have had....I have had a few less than desirable challenges but I think I'm starting to get the hang of things. At the same time, Ian has just excelled past his milestones and he continues to grow every day.
The month of May was a busy one for all of us, we snuck in a trip to San Diego, I was there for work and then Sam and Ian flew down and we spent a couple of days hanging with friends and visiting the animals at the zoo. Sam and I were a little anxious to see how Ian would respond to the animals since that seems to be is most favorite thing these days. Watching animals on TV, but to see them in person, well, that may be a little different. Wellllll, it wasn't! He was totally memorized by all the animals and even talked back to a few of them. We also made a quick trip down to the beach where I let him air out a little bit! :) Since Hawaii wasn't the greatest trip and we didn't go to the beach that much because of it, I figured giving the beach another try was a good idea. He loves it....I let the waves come up to his knees and each time a wave came in I made sure to make an excited sound so he wouldn't be scared of it. He loved throwing sand and running away from the waves. Grandma Ottosen also came to visit and we had a surprise visitor, Uncle David. It was wonderful to see both of them and we will be seeing David, Andrea and Ben in a few days!
Ian is no longer walking, he is running! He loves to run around the yard and house with a golf club and hit anything that will roll. He is climbing on things, sometimes learning the hard way of climbing, but for the most part he's been pretty safe. He is talking up a storm and has a lot to say....
Dada
Momma
Baba
Gjedo
Cora
Bubbles
Flower
Cracker (his first word)
Go go
aqua
leche
nigh nigh
Mickey
outside
and the list goes on and on.....
He gives great big hugs and will give you kisses without asking, he also says no when you ask for a kiss. :) He jumps and will show you how strong he is...He makes animal sounds which includes a lion whisper roar. BUT the best thing that Ian does (I think) is he will do something really goofy and laugh at himself. If you laugh at him, he will continue to do said action. He's a true comedian.
Ian's stats:
Height: 34.5 cm
Weight: 27.4 lbs
In other news, we have made a few updates to the house! It looks great!!! We are currently waiting to get refinanced and we will start an even bigger project of updating our kitchen. More to come (hopefully)....
